Sølv Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Sølv collects when you use solvscreen.com, why we collect it, and your rights. We keep it simple: we collect only what we need to sell you a film and get it to you.

1. Who we are

Sølv is a film distribution service ("Sølv", "we", "us").

For anything about your data, email legal@solvscreen.com.

2. What we collect

Your email address, so we can send your download link and purchase confirmation.
Purchase details: which film you bought, when, the price, and your consent to immediate download.
Payment information. This is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
Basic technical data, such as your browser type, device, IP address, and how you reached the site (for example, from a social media post or link). We use it to run the site, prevent fraud and download abuse, and understand which campaigns work.

We don't ask for your name, address or an account password. You don't need an account to buy.

3. Why we use it

To fulfil your purchase: processing payment, delivering your download and sending your link.
To support you: re-sending links and fixing problems.
To protect the service: enforcing download limits and preventing fraud.
To improve Sølv: understanding, in aggregate, which films and channels people find us through.
To meet legal obligations, such as keeping tax and accounting records.

We only email you about your purchases. If we ever send marketing, we'll ask you first, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run Sølv, and they process data only on our instructions:

Stripe: payments
Supabase: our database
Resend: email delivery
Vercel: website hosting
Amazon Web Services: film storage and downloads

We share purchase information with a film's filmmakers or rights holders only in aggregate, for example sales totals, unless we need to share more to resolve a rights issue. We never sell your personal information.

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK or EU, we rely on the providers' standard legal safeguards for international transfers.

5. How long we keep it

We keep purchase records for as long as you might need to re-download your film, and for as long as the law requires us to keep financial records (usually up to six years). Technical logs are kept for a shorter period. After that, we delete or anonymise the data.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to:

give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
correct it if it's wrong;
delete it, where we don't need to keep it for legal reasons;
stop or limit how we use it.

Email legal@solvscreen.com and we'll respond within one month. If you're in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In the EU, you can contact your local data protection authority.

7. Cookies

We use only the cookies and similar technologies needed to run the site, such as keeping checkout and downloads working. If we add analytics or advertising tools, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent where required.

8. Children

Sølv isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll show the date of the latest version at the top of this page.
